  3. After your clinic, take the USL Rules Test via the US Lacrosse hub in Arbiter.

Step Three: Participate in On-Field Training and Rating

Umpires receive on-field training and must earn a rating in order to be qualified to umpire games.

Step Four: Request Game Assignments

  1. For new umpires, the Assigner will create an ArbiterSports account for you. Upon creation of the account, you will receive a WELCOME email from ArbiterSports. After receiving the WELCOME email, you will need to login into ArbiterSports, and create a password. Please add your contact information into ArbiterSports; mileage fees are calculated based on the address shown in ArbiterSports and phone numbers are used to contact an umpire for last minute changes to game time/location.

  2. Block out dates/times you are not available to umpire; please update your availability whenever it changes - this could be every day!

  3. This year you will be able to self-assign yourselves to games. Only higher ranked umpires will be able to self-assign themselves to the Referee 1 position (Level 2 and above).   Level 1 umpires can assign into Referee 2 position. Apprentice umpires will only be able to self-assign themselves to Referee 2 positions for JV games.

  4.  The Assigner will schedule observations for Apprentice umpires to aid in their growth as an umpire.

  5. The Assigner may reassign umpires based upon need.

  6. The Assigner will schedule umpires for games, as required to obtain the necessary coverage.

  7. You will receive an email anytime you have a new game assignment. Accept or decline the assignment in ArbiterSports ASAP.
